Magdalena Straková ABSTRACT The thesis Beginnings of Czech Private Universities, based on the case study of the University of Finance and Administration, addresses the period from 1999 until 2009 when an amendment of the Higher Education Act enabled the creation of the first private universities. It maps and structures the field from the perspective of oral history in a case study of one of the first private universities. The thesis divides the school's history into three parts: preparation of the project and creation of the school, the period of growth, and the time of emergence of the first quality and reputation issues. It also answers the question of how much the existence of private universities changed the sector of tertiary education. Implementation of BI at private university

The Diploma thesis discusses Balanced scorecard and Business intelligence solution on universities. Solution is systematically divided into two main units, each with its chapters. First unit focuses on theory of Balanced scorecard and Business Intelligence. There are shown four basic perspectives of the Balanced scorecard and the basics are further enhanced by modifications, focusing on academic environment. Second chapter introduces the basic information readers needs to continue into the most important part of this work, which is pilot implementation of Business Intelligence at the University in Prague. Second unit deals with practical implementation of theoretical knowledge, gained in first unit. The following is specification of University in Prague with proposal of Balanced scorecard for the University in Prague. This is base fo further work, where is implemented pilot Business intelligence solution with basic reports.

Accounting and taxes of public benefit organisations in specific conditions of the private university CEVRO Institut

The aim of the thesis is to show how the private university act as a public benefit organisation, particularly in terms of accounting and taxation. Theoretical part is devoted to the basic characteristics and general legal obligations of public benefit organisations and private universities with a specific conditions of the practice of private university CEVRO Institut. Practical part is concerned with coherence and link accounting with taxes as general public benefit organisations as well as public benefit organisation - private university. The emphasis is placed on typical accounting events, management of the analytical evidence, problems of tax - effective expenditure and revenue, separations of costs, financial statements and tax returns.
